Demonstration service
Scam Shield is a hackathon project, not a commercial product or paid service. It may be unavailable, change, or lose demo data at any time.
No guarantee
Scam Shield uses AI to detect scam tactics, and AI can make mistakes. It may miss a scam or flag a legitimate call. Always verify before sending money or sharing personal information, and call your family member back on a number you know.
Not for emergencies
Scam Shield is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 911.
Consent is required
- Only sign someone up with their agreement. Scam Shield asks for their consent on their own phone before monitoring any calls.
- Only add Scam Shield to a call, or use the test line, when everyone on the call is aware and agrees. Scam Shield announces that it is listening.
- Do not use the test line to harass anyone or to test real people without their consent.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, flood it with calls or messages, or bypass its limits. We limit how often each visitor and phone number can use the service so it remains available to everyone.
